“London Lives” is the first series of online virtual tours that London with Londoners is presenting to show unusual sides of 3 iconic London neighborhoods through the biographies of 3 exceptional Londoners from the past.

Mary Shelley & St Pancras, Sunday 14 March at 5pm GMT (UK Time) past event

In what sort of London was the young author of Frankenstein born and raised? A bright and beautiful girl with an extraordinary background who grew up in a peculiar environment during an era of revolutions in the capital and the country. Delve with us into Regency London to unveil the secrets of St Pancras, experience the first Romantic "wave" and see what is left of it today.

Charlie Chaplin & Kennington, Sunday 14 February at 5pm GMT (UK Time) past event

No other place has ever inspired an artist so much as South London in the late 19th Century did for Charlie Chaplin. The curious people populating the streets, the music halls world and the seedy underground culture fired his imagination for the creation of the most popular character ever and many other inspirations for his films. Going through pages of his own autobiography, we are immersed into a very special boyhood and travel back to a lost dimension of the city.

William Blake & Lambeth, Sunday 17 January at 5pm GMT (UK Time) past event

The visionary and enigmatic Blake lived in London for most of his life and spent in Lambeth extremely creative and productive years. We walk on the streets in which he walked to explore his art in unusual settings, learn about the exceptional times he lived through and understand why his poetry is still relevant in contemporary Britain.

Every tour, 30-minutes long, a mix of the guide's high definition filming in the street and stunning images delivered live via ZOOM, can be booked individually for £6 (including booking fee) per household or the whole series of 3 tours for £15.

After the booking you will receive a confirmation email with relevant links and information.

“London Lives” virtual tours reviews

I very much enjoyed Stefano’s tour on William Blake. He covered a lot of ground, with a deft touch, and displayed a deep knowledge of the topic. I would recommend him strongly!

Great virtual William Blake & Lambeth tour by Stefano! I am looking forward to doing the real walk. I am a huge Blake admirer and have often been in Hercules Road and the adjoining streets. Love the mosaics. Thank you for taking us back, Stefano!

Hi Stefano, that was an excellent tour, very well researched and presented. I learnt a lot and hadn’t appreciated just how tough an early life Charlie had to endure. Kennington is a part of London that I don’t know very well, so I would be interested to do the walk when possible.
